I am a professional clarinettist, music tutor, workshop leader, and graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama with a BMus (Hons) – specialising in clarinet performance & woodwind tripling (saxophone and flute).

For the last five years, I have taught: Clarinet, Flute & Saxophone to an advanced level, and Piano, Singing & Music Theory to an intermediate level.

I offer an inclusive and inspiring approach to music tuition – encouraging all potential musicians to realise and achieve their goals.

A typical lesson includes development of: tone, technique, stamina, expression, theory, aural & general musicianship.

My teaching style is suitable for all types of musicians, from casual to expert, beginner to advanced – if you want to learn a new instrument, rediscover an old passion, work towards graded exams, or just play for fun!

Guitar, Bass Guitar and Double Bass

Joshua Goodey – BMus (Hons) 

Joshua is a Guitarist, Bass Guitarist and Double Bassist and works in different styles of music ranging from Classical, Jazz and Folk, through to Rock, Pop and Dance music. He is able to draw on these many different styles to offer a diverse and flexible teaching approach. Whatever you may want to learn, chances are, Josh has played it, and is happy to shape lessons to suit the most wide ranging or narrow focus in style of playing and technique.

Drums

Iolo Edwards

 

A final year Bachelor student of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Iolo has studied under Patrick King, Steve Banard and others.

Iolo currently teaches for Cardiff High School’s Orchestra, in addition to being a member of Quartet19 who regularly perform all over the UK.

Piano

Joshua Abbott - PianoJoshua Abbott – BMus (Hons) Dip.ABRSM. MA.

Piano teaching positions include John Masefield High School in Ledbury, OmM in Monmouth, and Millfield Prep School, Glastonbury.

Joshua teaches; ABRSM (prep – diplomas), Trinity syllabus, the ABRSM Jazz syllabus, Rock school, along with students learning for fun (current pop and classical).

Not just limited to classical piano Joshua is regularly performing in musicals, and has collaborated with music directors from the West End.

Strings

Beatrice Newman BMus, MABeatrice Strings
Beatrice completed her Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music in 2013, studying with Guy Johnston.
Beatrice teaches in Cardiff and London and is assistant deputy teacher to Kathryn Price at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Junior Department, as well as the ‘Curso  Internacional  de  Musica  Mastisse’  summer course.  She is also a member of the support staff for Gwent Music Service and a private string tutoring South Wales.

Theory & Composition

Nathan Jones — BSc. MANathan Jones Headshot

Nathan studied a Master’s in Composition at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff and now works as a freelance Music Director, pianist, arranger and teacher.

Recent theatre credits as Music Director and Keyboards include Sweat Factory and Dance Connection(YMTUK). Credits as Arranger, Orchestrator and Music Preparation include Broadway To The Bay (WMC), to name but one. Other credits include winner of the London Welsh Chorale Dylan Thomas composition competition for his a cappella choral setting of “The Hand That Signed The Paper”.

Nathan also runs a functions choir, Rechoir, who have performed at a range of events, including the UK tour of Godspell in Concert.
